Heavyrust: Raw, Rugged, Real
Designer Notes You’ll Actually Use
- Test Heavyrust in black and white first — color can mask poor contrast or awkward spacing.
- Check small-size readability on real mockups: print a 2x3” label, view it on a phone screen at arm’s length, and walk away ten feet. If it reads instantly, you’re good.
- Compare uppercase vs. all-caps usage — Heavyrust benefits from standard case alignment. All-caps tightens it up; sentence case opens it up. Choose based on mood, not habit.
- Review spacing carefully. Default kerning works for headlines, but tighten tracking by -20 to -40 for logos or tight containers. Never auto-kern — it misses the rhythm.
- Pair it deliberately: beside a warm serif font for heritage brands, a crisp sans serif for modern tech-adjacent studios, or a restrained script for wedding stationery that leans rustic, not romantic.
- Confirm commercial licensing before using in client deliverables, Canva templates, Cricut projects, or digital products. Heavyrust is a premium font — its license covers resale of end-use designs, but not redistribution of the font file itself.
